Staff Meetings - Personnel - One On One Principal - Manager - Staff Member

Allow the staff member to discuss their needs, wants and expectations and what they are doing, have done, and intend to do and by when. Give them your undivided attention (no mobiles etc or interruptions). Make a set time and stick to it rigidly. This is a most important meeting. Perhaps the first or second meeting, it may be where a few "grievances" are aired. Keep it positive and constructive. Ask prior to the meeting "What would you like to discuss" and be sure of these areas (and facts) you wish to discuss. An agenda is essential; otherwise it may degenerate into a rambling talk.

"All Staff" Meeting – (Quarterly - preferably 3 in the office and 1 external)

Results. What's happened/new ideas and brainstorm.

What's happening - positive feedback and constructive comments. Communication ie, not individual problems. PM 5:30 (perhaps a few drinks), followed by a dinner (perhaps invite partners too). Maybe a Country Club etc.

One Day Staff Seminar (Annual)

  1. All meetings to be pre planned, diarised and put on the notice board preferably in the kitchen/coffee area.
  2. No interruptions to meetings unless extreme circumstances.
  3. All meetings to incorporate an action sheet as attached
